“A long term career with lots of learning and development, in a family friendly environment.”
Senior Project Engineer
Rahul believes every engineer should want to be part of “Britain’s first major, national railway infrastructure project since Victorian times.”
Why? “Because you will deliver the infrastructure that will be utilised by generations to come. What a testament to your career!”
As a Lead Discipline Engineer, Rahul develops various trackside and station power system implementation strategies for the HS2 route between Birmingham and London. His complex and varied responsibilities bring him into contact with diverse teams.
“I support the construction team to identify and implement the safe implementation methodology. I also provide engineering support to procurement and project management teams. Coordination and cooperation with various teams is an essential part of realising the project objectives.”
Rahul recognises that HS2 “has a number of ambitious environmental and engineering targets.” It gives him “great satisfaction” to play his part in accomplishing them.
In addition to the rewarding nature of the work, Rahul identifies several other reasons why engineers should explore roles at HS2.
“HS2 offers you a long term career, as well as plenty of learning and development opportunities. What’s more, it is a family friendly organisation which cares for everyone.”
